About Andrea
Andrea Butera, RDH, graduated in Dental Hygiene from the University of Genoa in 2009. He obtained a Master's Degree in Technical Healthcare Professions from the University of Genoa in 2011 and an International PhD in Health Sciences from UCAM University of Murcia and the University of Pavia in 2021.
In 2024, he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the role of Associate Professor in the SSD MEDS-26/B sector. Since 2018, he has been Director of Educational Activities for the Dental Hygiene Degree Program at the University of Pavia, where he also holds a research fellowship.
He has been adjunct professor in the Dental Hygiene Degree Program at the University of Pavia since 2015/2016, and in the Degree Program in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics since 2023/2024. In 2012, he completed the "Advances in Dental Hygiene and Oral Care" programme at the University at Buffalo.
He is co-author of numerous national and international scientific publications, serves on the editorial boards of international journals, and is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Dental Hygiene. He is an active member of SISIO and SIRTEPS, and a regular speaker at national and international congresses. He is the recipient of the Sunstar Award of Distinction Europe 2024 (Research) and the IFDH Innovation Award 2025.
