Hiroo Kaneda Research Grant

Hiroo Kaneda, Founder of the Sunstar Foundation as well as leader of the Sunstar Group, raised the question,

Through my health experience, I feel that Periodontal disease is not localized only in my mouth. The health condition of the whole body is reflected in the mouth. Shouldn't oral and general health be linked?

Therefore, he devoted himself to create an international network drawn not only from the dental field but also comprising medical experts in order to clarify scientifically the link between oral health and systemic health. With his leadership, Sunstar and the Sunstar Foundation have been supporting many symposiums and academic conferences worldwide for decades in pursuit of this goal.
