With the deadline of February 15, 2021 just around the corner, this is a final reminder to apply for the Sunstar World Perio Research Award. As member of the screening committee, Professor Maurizio Tonetti – editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology – is reflecting on the legacy of periodontal medicine, and underlines that we are always looking for new leaders in this field.
