Meet the 2024 World Dental Hygienist Awards Winners

Sunstar Oral Health, part of Sunstar, in partnership with the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH), has announced the winners of the 6th edition of the World Dental Hygienist Awards.
The awards, supported by the Sunstar Foundation, celebrate and recognize the achievements of dental hygienists worldwide and were originally established in 2007.

The selection process
The selection of winners consisted of two parts. All nominations were judged by an international committee of independent dental hygienists formed by Ellen Bol - Van den Hil (Director of Dutch Dental Hygienists Association), Hanan Abdalla Tahir (President of Emirates Dental Hygienists Club), Wendy Stewart (Past President, Canadian Dental Hygienists Association), Donna Paton (IFDH Treasurer), Shaymaa Alreefy (Emirates Dental Hygienist Club), Sharon Friedman Yaniv (IFDH Secretary), Fouzieh Eliassy (IFDH Treasurer) and Jill Rethman (IFDH President-Elect), which accounted for 50% of the total score. The other half was taken from ‘likes’ accumulated on the one-minute videos submitted by the winners and published on the Sunstar Oral Health YouTube channel.
The Award Ceremony
The World Dental Hygienist Award Ceremony will be hosted on July 12, 2024 during the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene. Winners will receive a trophy, a monetary prize USD 1,500, and an all-paid expenses trip and registration to ISDH Seoul.
